Trainers Coalition is unified by our passion for fitness. To members of the Coalition, fitness nurtures the confidence needed to take control of our lives; fitness grooms our level of self-efficacy and self-worth; fitness shapes our mentality to improve ourselves at every opportunity. Most importantly, to members of Trainers Coalition, fitness gives us the power to better the livelihood and health of those in need.

The Coalition is a community brought together to accomplish one goal that is too big for any one of us to take on individually. Everyone has their own story, their own reasons to be in the gym, their own drive for wanting to help others - this is what we call their Coalition's Calling. We respect and recognize everyone's differences because our uniqueness as individuals, makes us stronger as a whole. We offer each other suggestions, share best practices and reinforce each others' dreams in order to push each other to be the best personal trainer or dietician that we can be.

If this resonates with you... volunteer with Trainers Coalition!

Personal Trainers / Fitness Instructors

What is the commitment?

Volunteer trainers are paired up with a specific client to take them through Program - Trailblaze, a training module that looks to introduce clients to working out and teach them proper movement pattern and exercise programming. Trainers are encouraged to make the module theirs - feel free to incorporate fitness principles and motivation techniques that have worked best for you. Our only ask is that you provide a minimum of 1 one-hour session each week. The timing and day of the session is decided by you!

Do I need to do anything before training?

Yes! After filling out the online volunteer application form, our staff will schedule a time to meet with you in person so that both parties can learn more about each other. We will then enroll you in a complementary gym staff membership to train at one of our partnered gym locations. To complete the membership registration, we must verify your individual contractor insurance coverage, sign you up for a trainer staff account, tour you around the facility, and give you one of our trainer shirts. Don't worry we'll make it as painless for you as possible - the bulk of the paperwork can be completed electronically in the comfort of your own home!

Volunteer Benefit
As a way to thank our active volunteers, Trainers Coalition works with the American Council on Exercise (ACE) to provide preferred pricing on continuing education credits, as well as specialty certification programs and exams. Many of these credits are also applicable to other reputable agencies like the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Please contact us for more information on how to be a part of this discount program.

Registered dietitians or nutritionists

What is the commitment?

Volunteer dietitians can donate their time and expertise in several ways. As part of our three tier approach to nutrition counseling, dietitians and nutritionists can choose to teach at group workshops or bring in low income individuals for individual counseling.

Workshop Instructors - we ask that you provide a minimum of 1 workshop every three months.
Individual Counselors - we ask that you provide a minimum of 1 session each week for 4 weeks.

How do I get involved as a dietitian or nutritionist?

After filling out the online volunteer application form, our staff will schedule a time to meet with you in person so that both parties can learn more about each other. At the meeting, we'll drop off a complementary Adidas t-shirt to thank you for your services and then:

For Workshop Instructors
We'll coordinate next steps in putting together the workshop's location, venue, registration, and identify other areas where we can assist you

Individual Counselors
Establish a line of communication between the personal trainer and dietitian to accelerate client's lifestyle change and discuss potential referrals from our client base
